During the late 1980’s the streets of Compton, California were some of the most dangerous in the country. The plague of crack cocaine was growing at an alarming rate as the violent gang drug business propelled its use. The LAPD specialized gang unit were leading the charge on the war on drugs that left residents of the Southern California community distrustful of authority. Rising from all this was the hip-hop group N.W.A(Niggaz Wit Attitudes) consisting of Eric Wright (Eazy E) O'Shea Jackson (Ice Cube), Andre Young (Dr. Dre), Lorenzo Patterson (MC Ren) and Antoine Carraby (DJ Yella). As a group, they manage to merge the things they saw going on in their society into the revolutionary music they created. Their biopic STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON chronicles that rise to fame and how they became the world’s most dangerous group. It is and exceptional entry in to the biopic genre and is one of the best films of the year.

NEW PRINCE Album Exclusively on TIDAL on September 7, 2015

Prince and  the streaming service Tidal have announced the next release from the entertainer will be exclusively on TIDAL on September 7, 2015.

The upcoming release, the experimental, HITNRUN, was first announced by his band, 3RDEYEGIRL, on BBC radio late last month, following the release of the critically praised first single, "HARDROCKLOVER".

Prince released a statement:

"After one meeting, it was obvious that Jay Z and the team he has assembled at TIDAL recognize and applaud the effort that real musicians put in2 their craft 2 achieve the very best they can at this pivotal time in the music industry.  Secondly, TIDAL have honored Us with a non-restrictive arrangement that once again allows Us to continue making art in the fashion We've grown accustomed 2 and We're Extremely grateful 4 their generous support.  And lastly, in the tech-savvy, real-time world We all live in 2day, everything is faster.  From its conception and that one & only meeting, HITNRUN took about 90 days 2 prepare its release.  If that's what freedom feels like, HITNRUN is what it sounds like."

Jay-Z had this to say:

"Prince has always been a visionary, a free-thinker.  We're honored to offer his breadth of work, "1999," "Purple Rain," etc., music that has inspired so many, on TIDAL.  We're also excited to be the home for his new upcoming album, HITNRUN.  Both Prince and TIDAL share the belief that all creatives should have the opportunity to speak directly to those that love and support them.  This partnership with Prince represents TIDAL's philosophy in its truest form, a 1 to 1 connection and direct delivery of artistry to the world."

HITNRUN is produced by Prince and co-produced by Joshua Welton

Ricki and The Flash Review

Meryl Streep is without question the greatest female actress of all time. She made her screen debut in the 1977 television film THE DEADLIEST SEASON and made her film debut later that same year in the film JULIA. She received the first of her 19 Academy Award nominations with her second film appearance, THE DEER HUNTER, in 1978. Currently she has more Academy Award nominations than any actor or actress in history and has won Best Supporting Actress for KRAMER VS. KRAMER (1979) and Best Actress for SOPHIE’S CHOICE (1982) and THE IRON LADY (2011). Some of her other nominated roles include THE FRENCH LIEUTENANT’S WOMANT (1981), SILKWOOD (1983), OUT OF AFRICA (1985), A CRY IN THE DARK (1988) THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY (1995), THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA (2006), and INTO THE WOODS (2014). Streep has also received 29 Golden Globe nominations, winning eight. Now Streep is back on the big screen and she takes on a whole new gig as a hard-rocking singer/guitarist in RICKI AND THE FLASH.

Sean Hill Reviews The Fantastic Four

The Fantastic Four were created by comic book legend Stan Lee and made their comic book debut in Marvel Comics in 1961. The four people who gained their superpowers after being exposed to cosmic rays are Reed Richards known as Mister Fantastic who is the leader of the group and gained the ability to stretch his body to various length and shapes; Sue Storm known as the Invisible Woman who as her name suggests can render herself invisible; Johnny Storm, known as the Human Torch, is Sue's younger brother, can generate flames, surround himself with them; and Ben Grimm known as The Thing , who possesses superhuman strength and endurance due to the nature of his stone-like flesh. The Fantastic Four stories are about characters who did not have to wear masks, and who sometimes clashed with each other. The comics were set in the real world so readers could identify even more with the Four. This will be the fourth film appearance of the four with the first film in 1994 never being released via theaters or home video but is available via bootlegs. The first released film was in 2005 and not well-received by audiences or critics. Despite the lackluster performance a second film was made RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER which was another disappointment. The franchise has been rebooted yet again and the results are less than that….fantastic.

The basic plot of the film involves Cruise's Ethan Hunt attempting to prove that a rogue anti-IMF team called The Syndicate is plotting to overthrow the world order through a series of covert terrorist operations. Problem is, the IMF has been disbanded and CIA director Alan Hunley (Alec Baldwin) is gunning for Hunt. First issue: how many times have we seen the hero who knows the truth be derided, diminished and hunted by his peers? Second issue: in light of the Avengers and SHIELD battling Hydra and Bond preparing to battle SPECTRE, does an organization called The Syndicate instill any sense of fear in you?
