so glad to hear a measured and logical response to this recent development. when i heard the news i was overjoyed! this is a first step to preserving the legacy of a now historical figure. prince rogers nelson is an irreplaceable iconic figure on the world stage, for all time. the judge and the executors of prince’s estate are taking the long view to make sure there is no asset grab by relatives or anyone else entering paisley park. the owner of these items is gone. prince guarded everything as best he could when he was here, but now, someone, an objective agency with a fiduciary duty to prince, has to be tasked to preserve what assets were left behind. bravo! his relatives seem to be split along lineage…john’s kids in one camp, mattie’s in another. they need to all be looking to the future and understand, as prince did, there is a difference between being rich and being wealthy. wealth is passed down through generations. 40 years of their brother’s blood, sweat and tears made that happen. his sisters need to calm down and let iron mountain do what they do. they have a facility for the sole purpose of retaining and preserving entertainment assets. those buildings are fireproof, among other controls. dave is very cogent and has always seemed up front and honest in his opinions. the fact that he basically brought paisley from any remaining analog elements to being completely digital/online is no small task. i pray that dave is included in any talks, as well as susan rogers and any others with technical knowledge of the recording and engineering of prince’s music, with those who will preserve and possibly restore those assets. and yeah, thanks for calling out those two bad actors who tried to make that quick money by selling out prince for $30 million!!
I honestly think that the $200 million estimate was referring to the estate as a whole (which was the initial value), not the vault. I believe the author of the article was confused.
