The Prince Podcast – Prince in the 90’s

In this weeks episode of  The Prince Podcast we are joined by Arthur and Jehan of The Music Snobs Podcast. We tackle the huge topic of Prince in the 90’s. With over 15 albums, a name change, Hip-Hop and the infamous battle with Warner Bros, the 90’s for Prince was a roller-coaster.  This is one of our longest shows ever. Over 3 hours of hardcore Prince discussion!

    • Laughing at someone (Big Ken?) eating chips during “None Of Your Business”.

The title is “Welcome to the Beautiful Experience”. Michael and I have had that for 20 years! (Hard to believe)

      • Everyone always says Emancipation could be great if condensed to one album — but the funny thing is is that nobody can ever — EVER — agree on what songs would be on that condensed single disc.

          • That Today Show performance where they are playing the track from GCS 2000 is as painful to listen to as it is to watch Graffiti Bridge. Ugh.

          • Here’s my music snobbery: Meshell has said in multiple interviews that her bassline was NOT used on “Emale”. She is credited with inspiration, not playing. That part was played by Rhonda, I believe.

        • The thing is, you have to live life. What happens in your life is reflected in your art/music. Therefore, tRC could NOT have happened without all the garbage before. And even then, the lyrical content of some of the songs is not something I can play loudly in my car with the windows down because he sounds like a crazy person…
